FAQ

How do I prepare for my spray tan?

You are going to receive this information via e-mail the day before your appointment… but here’s a breakdown:

SHAVE + EXFOLIATE. Be sure to shave all unwanted hair and exfoliate, head to toe using a proper exfoliating mitt the night before your appointment. Exfoliating is the key to a great tan and even more imperative if you have an existing sunless tan (using a loofah or exfoliating mitt is great for this).

NO PRODUCTS. Skip out on the lotions, deodorants, oils, and fragrances the day of your tan. These products can all create a barrier between your skin and the DHA resulting in an uneven tan, green armpits, and blotchiness.

WASH YOUR HAIR. Make sure to wash your hair prior to your appointment (or plan out your hair washing schedule) as to avoid washing your hair during your first rinse. Ingredients in shampoo + conditioner can interfere with development of your sunless tan.

PLAN YOUR DAY ACCORDINGLY. Plan on wearing loose dark clothing, no exposure to water (cooking/washing dishes/bathing kids) and no heavy sweating.

How long will my tan last?

Our tans usually last 7-10 days. This depends on several factors including your skin type, skin cycle, lifestyle, and care. It should last for a minimum of a week and has the potential to last as long as two weeks. The best thing that you can do to increase the longevity of your tan is to apply moisturizer once a day. Also, try to avoid activities that speed up your skin’s natural exfoliation process. Keep in mind that long showers/baths, hot tubs, heavy sweating, and swimming in saltwater and/or chlorine all tend to dry out your skin.

Do I need to worry about orange tones or streaks?

Never.  Our solution is brown-sugar based solution derived from apples. The brown sugar base ensures golden brown color eliminating all possibilities of an orange tone. Most all other solutions on the market contain beat or carrot fermented extracts, which is where the orange tones and unpleasant scent stem from. Our solution has a golden brown glow.

What should I wear to my appointment?

It is best to wear dark, loose fitting clothing and flip flops. (There is cosmetic bronzer in the solution and there is a chance that it can rub off on clothing. It washes out of most materials, but it is better to be on the safe side and not wear anything light in color.)

I have very fair skin, will my spray tan look natural?

We will customize a solution that will work with your specific skin tone. However, if you are new to spray tanning, we suggest selecting a lighter shade for the first session.

How many days before an event should I book my appointment?

We suggest booking your appointment 2 days before any event, wedding, or vacation to ensure your tan looks perfect. We also suggest getting a trial tan a few weeks before any event to make sure you achieve the color you want for your special day.

Massages, waxing, mani/pedis, etc. should all occur a minimum of 4-12 hours before your spray tan appointment. All of these services have their own products that are utilized throughout the services that when used too close to your appointment can create a barrier between your skin and the DHA (active ingredient in spray tan).
